Personality: Zira, in all truth, is a tyrannical, obsessive, sadistic and angry creature. Toss in a bit of psychosis to "ice" the "cake" that is Zira and you've got yourself this lioness. She primarily lives in the past which causes her hatred of the Royal family to grow and fester like a weed. She hates the pridelanders and has raised her three children (Nuka, Vitani and Kovu) to hate them as well. She flat out refuses to let anything go, even over years and years. It is a wonder she has survived this long as the undisputed Queen of the Outlanders pride. Once her mind latches onto something that requires plotting and her to think about it, she focuses only on that one thing and nothing else, not even her children. She will center her life and everyone else's around said idea/circumstance. She fiercely yearns to succeed in her plots, plans and "crazed" ideas, for any failure-whether by her or another-only spurs her intensity in future plots and plans, and her total overwhelming desire to hate and utterly shame those who have done her wrong-in her eyes at least-in the past. the constant fire that burns within her is what makes her such an excellent leader and huntress, with determination as her follow up plan. However deep down her true personality is lacking in simple desirable qualities that would make her a great Queen, such as kindness and fairness. Sarcasm pours from her words when she speaks and her very existence is fueled by anger, pure and simple anger, nothing more. Unless she is well aware that a plot or plan will take time to set into motion, she is rather impatient, and she will constantly pace about, rant and raving to her pawns, children and minions, hoping to rid them of anticipation of anything but taking back the pridelands with her as queen forever. With Kovu's "defection", she has become harder on the other two children left to her, Vitani and Nuka. She is a bit of an "ice queen" according to some, but this is simply due to her overwhelming desire to defeat Simba and his pride forever.

History: Zira's past is relatively unknown. She was the first born cub to a rogue male and a female of a pride not more than a month's journey from the Pridelands. Her siblings were two boys and a girl. They were always regarded as outsiders and therefore during Zira's first hunt, she ran away and never returned. She never regretted leaving her so-called "pride" for she'd never been accepted as a member of the group. She'd been forced to eat with the cubs, to sleep in the coldest part of the cave, to drink last at the watering hole, and was generally ignored or gossiped about. The only lions she cared for-even a tiny bit-were her siblings and they'd all promised to run away as she had as soon as they were old enough. She became used to the rogue lifestyle very quickly and never stayed in one place for too long, until she came to the pridelands, that is. She didn't care that they were becoming desolate or that game was less and less easy to find, all she cared about was weaseling her way into a position of power. However as fate would have it, she fell in love with the king of the land, Scar. She immediately started cozying up to him after she was accepted into the pride. Slowly but surely, Zira was gaining his trust by informing him of the doings of the other lionesses and by accepting -or appearing to accept (which was closer to the truth)-the hyenas as equals. She eventually became his Queen and bore him a son and heir, Nuka. Even after her son's birth, Zira remained focused on her goal of staying close to Scar. She did care about her son somewhere deep down inside but she was more concerned with her mate and the state of affairs within the kingdom. Soon she was leading hunting parties-which had once been Sarabi's duty- on hunts outside the pridelands to find food. It was during one of these hunts that the lioness she hated most, Nala, ran off to a place that Zira still doesn't know the location of. It was at this time that she gave birth to her second cub, Vitani. Leaving her daughter with Nuka, she continued her duties as queen.
Once the interloping "true king" Simba returned and killed-or appeared to kill-Scar, she gathered up the lionesses faithful to Scar and formed the beginnings of a new pride. One of her main acts during Simba's reign prior to her banishment was to kill Simba and Nala's son before he was too old to defend himself. She left the corpse where everyone could see it, and for many days the pride mourned but Zira's small pride faked their mourning. She soon was confronted by Simba and seeing no real need to apologize or offer her condolences, she admitted to the evil deed and got herself, young Nuka and Vitani, and the rest of her followers banished to the Outlands.
Fulfilling a promise to Scar, she took a young cub with her, carrying him in her mouth, and forcing Nuka to carry Vitani in his. She raised him as her own son and taught him to follow in scar's paw prints. She named this cub Kovu. Every year she filled his heart with more hate for the Pridelanders. The day she caught him playing with Kiara was the day she saw the path of the Outlanders' return to the Pridelands and her glorious return to power. She developed a plan in which Kovu would get close to the daughter and then she and her followers would slip in and kill Simba. But this fell though when her son fell in love with the princess and wound up protecting simba when her plan for him to kill simba fell apart due to his feelings for the daughter. She was therefore forced to attack the pridelanders on a dark and stormy night. She wound up engaging Kiara one on one and during this fight, she fell to her apparent death. She'd slipped off a ledge during her fight with Kiara and fell into the gorge which was rapidly filling with water and was full of logs. She actually managed to survive and find her way back to the Outlands, her stomping grounds where she plots once again to rid herself of the annoyingly perfect Royal Family. She hasn't lost any of her focus on her goal of killing the Royal family and most of their loyal, unsuspecting followers (especially that annoying bird and that crazy baboon), and she hopes to once again become the Queen of the Pridelands beside Scar as King. She will more than likely kill Kovu and Kiara, although she might be persuaded to banish them from the Pridelands and Outlands for ever and ever if somebody close to her goes about it right.
