Character you wish to play: Edmund Pevenise
Age: 14
Sex: male
Custom Title:
Personality:
Edmund, being the third child in a four child family, is the middle child, and thus he is sarcastic to get attention from his siblings and his parents.
He still will use sarcasm to make a point sometimes but is learning to cut back on the cutting remarks. Edmund is a good king but he is still learning how to control his sarcasm and snarkiness.
Edmund is the just king for a very good reason: Because of his experiences with the white witch, he wants to see justice done constantly in Narnia. he is the one who will-along with Lucy and sometimes Susan-try to break up a fight and get the combatants talking out their problem. Settling fights this way is the thing that Edmund does best when he's not fighting to protect narnia.
he is headstrong and unfortunately, Lucy seems to share this trait with him. He will never learn to do as he is told, no matter how many times Peter lectures him about it. A great example of this is the first battle of Beruna, where he breaks Jadis's wand and gets stabbed by her for his efforts to be heroic. He also is a little rebellious-especially when it comes to orders from peter
Appearance:
Eyes: Edmund's eyes are a dark brown, like the trunks of the trees in the great western woods to which he was given by Aslan. They sometimes sparkle with laughter and then other times with joy in being in the presence of Aslan.
Hair: Ed's hair is also a dark brown similar to the tree trunks of the woods to which he was given. Although during certain times of the day when he is outside it looks almost black. It is fairly long and will fall into his face sometimes.
Skin: Edmund's skin is somewhat tanned, owing to his time in Narnia. It's still somewhat pasty, however which is to be expected for someone of his nationality. He is not as pasty as he once was however, which is a improvement to his looks or so some say.
Body type: Edmund is athletic to say the least ,and well, it is to be expected. After three adventures in Narnia, two in times of turmoil, one would of course get into very good shape if they're out on the battlefield fighting a lot. He isn't too tall but stands at 5'8", which makes him just 2 inches shorter than Peter, and taller than Susan by just 1 inch and taller than Lucy by several inches, but he isn't proud of his height, rather in battle he uses it to his advantage, being that he can duck under those that Peter can't and weaken them for his brother or older sister to finish off.
Other:
Edmund is a handsome King, with dark brown hair and eyes. He is fairly muscular seeing as he has seen his fair share of battles. He can look very frightening at times to those who don't know him at first. Usually though, his expression is one of fairness and love for his family.
He dresses in the style of most narnians, but in battle he wears the armour which he and Peter used in the battle of Beruna, which is a full suit of chain mail with a red breastplate upon which a golden lion is engraved, of course this lion represents Aslan. He wears a less formal-and less sweat-inducing- training outfit when he actually hones his old skills and learns new ones. This outfit is a blue tunic underneath a brown leather breastplate, and brown leather gloves, tan pants and black boots finish the look. He often will use two swords in training and sometimes will spar with either Peter or Caspian using both swords and sometimes you will see him use two swords in battle. When he dresses for formal court occasions, he usually wears a dark shade of blue, tan, and/or green. When he wears more relaxed day wear, he dresses in a dark shade of blue usually but this is traded off for a dark green or tan outfit at times.
History:
Edmund Pevensie was born to George and Helen Pevensie in 1930. When he was two years old, his younger sister Lucy, the last of the Pevensies, arrived on the scene. As the third child and youngest of the two sons, he enjoyed his childhood as much as he could with Peter and Susan looking out for him all the time. At this point he didn't develop a really deep bond with any of his siblings like the one Peter developed with Lu. The four siblings got on fantastically for being so very close in age and they were happy and they were united as one front, as a team.
"DAD!!!"
But then came the war and their happy world of sibling friendship, love and joy in being children came crashing down around them. Their father was enlisted and took off to join the British army on the battlefront, leaving a shattered and broken family behind him. Edmund himself became distanced from them all and even more sarcastic than usual, mourning the loss of their father. Lu, well she was the only one of them who even attempted to try and remain the way she'd always been and Peter and Susan appreciated this. Peter had to give up what was left of his childhood and fill in for their father in his absence and help their mother any way he could. Susan took her cues from her older brother and tried to keep the household in order in the way only a woman could and at the same time became wrapped up in logic, wondering why the war had to happen in the first place, it tore fathers away from their families and husbands and fiancés from their wifes and lovers.
"Perhaps we've been incorrectly labeled?"
When the war got worse, a declaration was posted that all children should be evacuated immediately. Susan tried to remain calm and helpful for Peter’s, Lucy’s and Edmund’s sakes while Ed was very upset and even commented that if their dad was there he wouldn't make them go and the Peter retorted "if Dad were here, it would mean the war was over and we wouldn't have to go." After Peter promised their mother he would look after his siblings, they boarded the train and they were off to the relatively safer countryside, unaware of what there awaited them, Narnia. Professor Kirke’s housekeeper slash maid, Mrs. McCready came to the quaint countryside train station to pick them up and take them to the Professor’s large house.
"Some little children just don't know when to stop pretending."
In a strange series of events started by a game of hide and seek, the siblings found themselves in a magical world hidden inside a wardrobe, called Narnia. He had followed Lucy into the wardrobe as a joke and it was here that he met jadis , the White Witch who promised him the kingship of Narnia if he would but deliver his siblings to her. After a little while of following Mr. Beaver, Ed ran away to Jadis, who was the self styled Queen of Narnia. While his siblings were Aslan knows where, Ed was first stuck in the Witch's dungeon for failing to deliver Peter, Susan and Lucy to her, and then stuck following her as she froze many Narnians with her wand. It was when a fox addressed him as "Your Majesty" that he started to realize Jadis was the enemy and he was on the wrong side in this war. He stayed with her until some Narnians on Aslan's side rescued him from her camp.
"Narnia needs us, all of us."
After meeting Aslan, Lucy and Susan had been playing in the river when two wolves came upon them and Peter killed one. Then as the second wolf ran away after Aslan and some Narian creatures appeared, the creatures followed the wolf on Aslan's orders and found Edmund at Jadis' camp and brought him back to Aslan's Camp. Once he was at the Aslan's Camp, Aslan talked with Ed for quite some time and then the four siblings were reunited and Peter wanted Ed and the girls to return to the Professor's house but Ed disagreed, saying that Narnia needed them, all four of them. Su then took Lucy and went to the archery field for some archery practice while the boys practiced riding and swordplay. They all returned to Aslan's camp where they talked for a while and then retired to their tents for the night.
"FOR NARNIA!! AND FOR ASLAN[/u]!"[/i]
Apparently, Lucy and Susan had followed Aslan for a long time, straight to the Stone Table where they hid in some brushes nearby and watched his execution by Jadis, the white witch. After jadis and her people left they sent a message to peter and Ed who then went to war to defend Narnia from Jadis. As they rode into the battle, they shouted what would become their battlecry 1,300 years later, "For Narnia! and For ASLAN!!" After a long time, Edmund broke Jadis' wand and got stabbed with half of it for doing so. then just before he blacked out, he saw that Peter was fighting Jadis who was using two-swords against him. Susan and Lucy Arrived then and Su stood with the archers and fired a few arrows at the witch's people when they were in her line of sight, as the battle went on with the strengthened Narian army lead by Peter and-to a much lesser extent-Ed and of course Aslan (just as much as Peter). After the battle, Lucy used her gift from Father Christmas to heal him and then the Golden Age began a few days later.
"Lucy!!!Oh not AGAIN!"
The Narnians won their fight and vanquished Jadis, thanks to Aslan, his brother, sisters and himself and the Pevensies were crowned kings and queens of Narnia. The pressure of this new responsibility was difficult to adjust to for awhile, but Ed quickly became used to it and happy in his role as King, one of four rulers and two Kings of the land. The Pevensies reigned in Narnia for many years, before they accidentally stumbled back into the Spare Room in Professor Kirke's house in the English countryside, thanks to Lucy remembering Spare Oom when they were hunting the legendary white stag.
"Once a King or Queen in Narnia, Always a King or Queen in Narnia. Bear it well, Sons of Adam. Bear it well, Daughters of Eve."
Try as they might, they could not find any way to get back into their beloved country, and thus begun attempting to cope with being school children again. Ed had taken this change badly but not as badly as his older two siblings, having transitioned from a full grown man back to a school boy. There were times when he thought he was still a King, high above the rest of the schoolboys, but then the truth returned painfully as he realized that once more he is only a normal everyday schoolboy, just like them and no longer the Narnian King Edmund the Just...but then, as Aslan and Professor Kirke once said, once a king or queen in Narnia...always a king or queen in Narnia.
"We *are* talking to you."
One year later, Ed has to pull Peter off of some boys he was fighting, as Lucy and Susan watch and then the four go and sit on a bench to wait for their train. Peter explodes, saying that he wasn't always a kid, and basically questioning Aslan and stating that it's been a year which the other three know very well. Then as their train approaches, Lucy notices that some sort of magic is in use, for the train station slowly seems to disappear and realizes that Aslan or some other force must be pulling them back to Narnia, but before she can say anything, she and her siblings find themselves in a cavern-like tunnel and as they walk towards the end of it, Lucy recognizes the sea and the beach, her sea, and realizes with a smile on her face that they are home once more and looks at Susan who seems to know what she's thinking and they all four throw off their school jackets and most of the constricting clothes and run into the sea and splash each other.
"Hey that's *MINE*!!!"
Then Ed notices some ruins and remarks upon them, causing the four to journey in the direction of them, and onc they arrive Lucy says, "I wonder who lived here". Just after she says this, Susan finds one of Ed's golden chessmen and replies, "I think *we* did", holding out Ed's chessman in her palm, causing Ed and Pete to get into a little agurement about it. Lucy is first to realize that they are standing in the ruins of their beloved Cair Paravel. She points this out to the others, asking them to imagine columns and roofs and two more thrones and such things. They then go into their treasury, where they find their gifts from father Christmas still intact, well at least Peter, Susan and Lucy do. They also find their other belongings and clothes in their own treasure chests causing Lucy to remark on how she loved one dress in particular, and Susan to remind her that she was older then and Ed to say "as opposed to hundreds of years later, when you're younger?" This reminder is poignant for them all as they realize that there must be a task Aslan wants them to complete while they are back in their "homeland".
"The last time *I* didn't believe Lucy, I ended up looking *pretty stupid.*"
They rush back to the beach, dressed in Narnian attire and with their weapons, and also Lucy with her cordial, just in time to save a dwarf named Trumpkin from drowning. He fills them in on the changes that have taken place since they left after saying "so you're it? the kings and queens of old?" Lucy then sees a bear and greets it, but it charges her, and as Su is aiming an arrow at it and the boys preparing to attack with their swords, Trumpkin kills it with an identical arrow of his own. She asks if it was one of theirs, meaning a Talking Beast, and Trumpkin says that if you treat something like a dumb animal for long enough, that's what it becomes and that they might find narnia a more savage place than they remember. Then as they are going downriver in a boat, Lucy comments that the trees are so still and trumpkin asks her what she was expecting and she replies that they used to dance. They wind up landing somewhere up river from the Cair, and start walking. After a fair bit of walking and some climbing, Lucy alone sees Aslan and says so, but the others don't believe her again, just like the time she first found Narnia in the wardrobe when they were playing Hide and Seek. They then wind up walking for a few extra days.
"Peter! No!!"
That night Ed was woken up by Lucy who claimed to have seen Aslan again, but neither he nor Peter nor Susan believed their little sister, and so they continued with their hike until while hiking though the woods, Peter ran into Caspian and by some misfortune or bad luck, the young men both challenged the other. Then Su, Ed, Lucy and Trumpkin raced around the corner with cries of "Peter!" and "No! Don't!" When Caspian heard their cries,he realized who he had challenged and asked if Peter was the High King and then said he was expecting them to be older. Peter had, at the moment his siblings appeared, dropped the rock he had intended to use as a weapon as his sword had been knocked out of his hand by Caspian.
"I know, you had it sorted..."
They then joined Caspian's forces and headed towards Aslan's How to decide many things about the war they are now involved in. Though the course of many days and talks, everyone but Lucy goes off in a night raid against Caspian's evil uncle Miraz's castle and Lucy is left with the wifes and young children at the How to wait for the return of their soldiers. Later Lucy acts as the voice of reason, a position that Susan filled the last time they visited Narnia. Many days pass and after an encounter with a hag and a were wolf who tried to revive Jadis but Ed thwarted their plan by breaking the wall of ice she was entrapped in with his sword and telling Peter,"I know, you had it sorted..."; the forces of Old Narnia, which is to say Caspian and the Pevensies' army, defeated Miraz's army with the help of the trees and Aslan and the river god. Lucy was the one who found Aslan for them when they needed him most. As the Telmarines charged towards his sister after she came out of the woods, she brandished her dagger bravely and with her eyes dared them to cross the bridge they had built and to approach her. A few seconds later, Aslan appeared and most of Miraz's forces fell back but his general rode across the bridge and then with a mighty roar from Aslan, the god of the river woke up and destroyed the bridge, killing the general.
"I'm older and I don't think I *want* to understand"
The Pevensies then attended the coronation of Caspian, who is now King Caspian X. A few days later, he is heartbroken to discover that they have to leave Narnia once more and shocked to find out that Peter and Susan shall not be returning the next time the Pevensies come to Narnia. First with everyone, Narnians and Telmarines alike, watching, Peter hands Caspian Rhindon and his shield, prompting Caspian to say that he'll take care of them until Peter returns and Peter to say "That's just it, We won't be coming back" to which Lucy replies shocked, "What?" and then Peter explains he meant himself and Susan anyways and tells her and Ed that 'You'll understand when your last time comes', a promise that Ed isn't sure he likes the sound of, then Susan kisses Caspian for the first time, and Lucy commented saying, "I'm sure when I'm older, I'll understand." Ed replied to her, stating, "*I'm* older and I don't think I *want* to understand." After that the Pevensies leave Narnia.

Sample RP: (from the ed/jas halloween thread on Remember the magic)
Edmund had been lost in thought as he drank from his glass of punch when he heard someone ask him, "am I addressing my date for this night?"
He looked up at the owner of the voice, it was interesting that she was as dark as a Telmarine and a Calormene yet she was neither of these, that much was obvious to the young king of narnia right away. He set his glass down and bowed to her, in the classic Narnian fashion, one of many that he found hard to break himself of, as he said, "yes, you are addressing your date for this night, if you are Princess Jasmine, my lady."
So many of his kingly habits would never leave him and while he struggled often to forget them when with others his own age, there was one other place outside of his kingdom and his family that it was safe to use them in and that was here, this enchanted-and enchanting- world of Disneyland.
He figured from her surprised looks around the room that she probably had a boyfriend or a fiance back home, so he'd simply keep her safe for the lucky guy and that she was from somewhere far from here. He wasn't from America either, but he at least had attended balls like this one before so he asked her, in the polite and formal tone he'd often used back in the now long dead Golden Age, "Is this your first ball, my dear lady?"
He was being very polite as he knew her to be royalty as he was and he wanted her to feel safe and comfortable with him, even if this was just a one time only 'date' as they'd arranged before. That was to protect her from any dangers and make it look as though she had found a new love. Of course Edmund would not go overboard on that part of it, he'd just treat her like he had all the ladies that had tried to court him back during his and his siblings' reign of Narnia, with the politeness and gentleness that kings looking for mates were so renowned for.
